I'll look into the errors, however, Did you grab the C++ libraries I spoke
of in the KB article? In other words, grab the Libstdc file I mention from
either a redhat 6.1 or 6.2 box and overwrite the existing one on your
mandrake system, then re-install Coldfusion. As soon as I have a chance, i
will explore this more.

please note, this is not strictly an issue with having a seperatly
compiled version of CF, instead, this is more of an issue with a common set
of C++ libraries across Linux distributions. Of course, this is a personal
gripe, as if Linux distros had one common set of libraries across the
spectrum, software porting to multiple distributions would be much, much
simpler.

... Wait (yes, i am typing this as i think) you said you did this on
a mandrake 7.1 machine? This is more than likely your issue. My instruction
set was for mandrake 7.0 specifically, as Mandrake 7.1 came out mid-way
through my testing and design. When I gain a free cycle, i will grab a copy
of 7.1 and test it.

Sorry for the confusion.

Subject: Fw: Anyone tried KB article 16303 (CF and Mandrake)

Hi,

I was very pleased with the KB articles (16303) about running CF 4.5.1
on Mandrake Linux (credits for Jesse and Allaire !!), and tried it right
away..

But it didn't work for me, running a fresh installaed Mandrake 7.1. box. A
lot of the errors are away!, but i have a complete new one thats not
even starting the server but creating a core dump !.

The error message when i type '/opt/coldfusion/bin/start' this:
Error: performing shmget() on ColdFusion Registry shared memory:
Identifier removed.

When i do a 'ps ax | grep cold' i only see 4 cfexec process running.

 And when i type '/opt/coldfusion/bin/stop' :
Error: performing shmget() on ColdFusion Registry shared memory:
 Identifier removed.
 /opt/coldfusion/bin/stop: line 81: 837 Aborted (core dumped)
 $CFHOME/bin/cfexec -stop

I hope anyone tried this, and can help me ! Because Mandrake 7.1
with CF must kicks ass (and the SSL thing will work straight out the
 box!)

Perhaps its a good idea for Allaire to also supply 'other' compiled
versions
of CF.. Since Mandrake is number 1 for a long time now on the
download chart, Redhat is 'just' second.

 Regards,
