We don't run on Linux - this is due to a lack of advanced security on linux
for the moment, but does do lots of cool stuff. Basically it's a frame work
for creating web apps that gives you lots of out of the box services for the
types of programming that you repeat everytime you build a site: content
publishing, security, stateful processes, etc. It uses an object-based
metaphor so that you create lots of cool reusable stuff. This is not the
official marketing explanation mind you...

Has anyone here used allaire spectra? Any comments? We are looking
at using it in a new project, I've read through their 20 page
technology overview and still really don't know what it does. I
