WHOA!!!!!!
Stop the presses! CF is written in PURE C++. And, to my knowledge, this
won't be changing SOON. So, ignore the java stuff. infact, JRUN itself is
written in pure java and is quite highly scalable. =] But, CF != Jrun
If this is the case, then I wonder why Allaire is going with this strategy
instead of using native C++ code, which does not need any additional
interpretation or JIT compiling. That seems to be how talentsoft writes
Web+ (in native C++).
We do use native C++ you are speaking of the Pharaoh project, which is not
coming in the near future as far as I can tell. Even it if it was, with the
new JDks/JVMs hitting the market, Java is no longer a scalability concern.
Can you tell me how CF on JRUN will outperform native C++ code?
Uhm. See above =]
[when I first read this email, I was stunned... I promptly went and asked a
friend of mine if someone had changed something while I was gone... or, if I
had gone insane. Heck, it even scared me! =]]
