Cripes! don't do that! First of all, that is not rwx for all, that's
rwxr-xr-x

Second, CF templates do *not* need to be executable, and therefore *should*
not.

If 'nobody' is the owner, then the files can be 644 (rw-r--r--)

If 'nobody' is a member of the group owner, then the files can be 664
(rw-rw-r--)

If 'nobody' is none of these, the the files can be 666 (rw-rw-rw-)

Remember that with security, permissions should always be set to the *most*
restrictive setting that allows you to do what you need.

The biggest PITA with using RDS on *nix is that it always sets permissions
for new files as 644, which means in order to edit them outside of RDS,
you've got to log in as superuser and change the permissions. I've seen a
lot of people ask Allaire how to change this, but I've never seen Allaire
answer.

Subject: Help Request - CF RDS does not have write permissions

I tried using CF Studio's RDS capabilities with Linux CF451 server for the
first time - I'm able to read files fine, but when I tried to edit the file
and save it back to the server, I received the following error:

Error attempting to open file:
/home/httpd/html/index.cfm. <p>
Error = Tried to open read-only file for writing, or file's sharing mode
does not allwo specified operations, or given path is directory.

I have CFserver running as user "Nobody", do I need to change permissions on
these files to allow editing of files through studio/rds? If so, a quickie
example of how to do so would be appreciated.
