Argh this is so annoying. I use an old laptop of mine to play with. It
s had Mandrake 7.0,7.01,7.1,and 7.2 on it within the last year, all with
successful installs of CF45Pro on them (using the instructions on Allaires
Linux area). I just cleared out the box again this week, and when
installing CF the same way that I always have, end up with these errors:

[root@turdball /root]# /opt/coldfusion/bin/stop
Error: performing shmget() on ColdFusion Registry shared memory:Identifier
removed
Aborted (core dumped)
[root@turdball /root]# /opt/coldfusion/bin/start
Error: performing shmget() on ColdFusion Registry shared memory:Identifier
removed
/opt/coldfusion/bin/start: line 98: 3923 Aborted (core
dumped) env -i $ENV_LIST $CFHOME/bin/cfexec

Ive had this happen on other boxes before, and could never figure out how
to get the problem fixed without a clean reinstall of the OS/Server/CF. Id
really rather not keep taking that oldschool windows approach to things if I
dont have to (not to mention I got everything all nice and updated and
secured and whatnot). Anyone have any groovy insight as to what the prob
might be here?

Mandrake7.2
CF4.5Pro (plus sp1/2 when I get it going)
AMDK6233 w/MMX
64M (as of today or tomorrow 128) RAM
Apache 1.3.14
Et al.

Like Ive said, Ive had this exact same setup working beautifully previous
to this install, and would like to be able to fix this without reinstalling
everything. Following the Mandrake7.0 instructions on Allaire has always
been flawless on this machine and 7-7.2

TIA!
