And on this note, I'll mention something:
::places the skunkworks cap on his head::
After pondering this for a bit, I came up with a rather simple idea.
I've wanted to build a not-quite-allaire sponsored CF-Linux site for some
time, now, I work for Allaire, so the following comments do not reflect my
employer's views, and heck, I'll take of the Allaire Cap for a bit.
At this time, the structure of coldfusion allows you to modify the
installation script rather easily, it would allow you to "plug and play"
different scripts so that you could ease through different installations on
different distributions. So, say that there was a site regarding CF-Linux,
and on it, you have a script section listing out say, different installation
scripts users could use after downloading or copying over the tarball.
So, you have something like so:
cfinstall_debian
cfinstall_turbolinux
...etc.
Heck, maybe you have ideas to add to the install script, the code is
there, just like the code for the Apache module is readily available for
editing and perusal. If you have suggestions, additions/etc, go ahead, send
them to this list, post them to a website, SEND THEM MY WAY. I am always
looking for tasty suggestions to use.
Just my .002 cents.
::puts allaire cap back on::
With that said, Allaire only supports CF on Red Hat linux,
currently.

Subject: CF for Debian distro
Hi!
Since Debian is the Linux distro that is most related to Solaries
many companys and system administrators run this distro.
Have anyone of you made a port of the Red Hat installation package
to a Debian package or have any info on this?
I'm rather tired of making the installation by hand all the time.
