I want to thank all those who offered help with this mail issue. As for
details I have very few. We are development company and was grabing at
straws to figure out what was going with one of our clients mail on a
linux box.

All of the responses and ideas that you came up with were sent to the
hosting company so that they could see different options and not get
locked into one way of thinking.

Your posts are greatly appreciated and when we finish getting our in
house development box setup, I hope to be as helpful as those who took
the time to respond with useful information.

Thanks,

Brian

Subject: RE: CFMAIL Question

a While ago someone suggested that if one can use <CFFILE> to write
a spool file directly to the mail spool folder,
wich can be something like sendmail, or exim (in my case),
the mailer would try and deliver it.

Does anyone have an idea how the format of a spool file looks like.
I would really like to try this,
for then, if a mail cannot be sent, it will stay in the queue,
wich is much easier to manage than repeatedly checking the undelivr
folder.

Has anyone ever got this idea to work ?

Herman

This directory is leftover from when we did put mail log messages in the
mail sub directory.

This was changed/fixed in 4.5 so all of the CF log files are in the same
place.
