Although I develop for a Solaris web server, all non-NT developers have
something in common: The absence of Crystal Reports or any other built-in
printed report capability for CF.
I'd very much like to know what others in this group are doing for reports,
especially where things like subtotals are needed. I know this can be
accomplished using scripting variables to accumulate subtotals and dump the
output into a table for formatting (much the same way I did in college using
COBOL ... not the simplest approach!)
Is anyone using Java-based tools (perhaps with JDBC) to generate
professional-looking printed reports? Any other recommended tools out
there? Perhaps CF5 will have some usable reporting features?
