To be honest, I don't see a version of Studio for linux coming through soon.
The problem is, is the fact thatI haven't been able to build a solid
business case for the port.
As it is, I am sure, if those of us wanting such an animal were to band
together and show MACR that there is a demand, and that it can be done, I am
sure that they might take notice.
This is why I am so interested in getting a feature mod for Jedit working.
Unfortunatly, I don't have the time or resources to dedicate to programming
such an animal.
This again goes to my idea of a community-ran and based website dedicated to
these sorts of things. Heck, i can even host it!
CF has always been about the community. Linux IS the community. We need to
band together.

If anyone knows the marketing/bizdev thing better than me, I WANT to build a
viable business case for Studio on linux, suggestions?

So when are we going to get CF Studio for linux? I'm ready to get rid of
windows all together, but I love my cfstudio.

Just in case you hadn't heard (I thought we put this to bed on this list
several months back when we shipped CF5): CF5 on Linux SMP ROCKS THE
HOUSE!!! :)
Up to 4.5 X (TIMES) faster than CF4.anything. Much more solid, MUCH better
scaling, MUCH less memory, dynamic footprint reduction, etc, etc, etc. On a
2.4 kernel, it goes FASTER THAN NT4.0 and Win2000 on the same hardware in
some tests. It's very, very, very fast.
I'd compare it to *anything* from *any vendor* on Linux.
Try it for yourself. The download is free, try it for 30 days, and if I'm
full of it, go back to what you're using now. If it's true, buy it and
spread the word!
