Try adding the OUTPUTFILE directive of CFEXECUTE,
so debug ingo could be sent to the file.
Also check the "-" before the czvpf
Also try to ONLY tar (not compress and all other enhancements),
for a start, and add options until you find when it stops to work.
Keep a close look on the process with /usr/bin/top,
here you can check if it actually starts.
Hope you get em running.

Subject: <cfexecute> tar
I'm having problems when I try to tar up a big directory (not so big,
~30MB). It seems strange because it stops always at the same point. I
already set a huge timeout. The process just hang in the system and never
finish.
<cfexecute name="/bin/tar"
arguments="czvpf #home#/backup/danberry_#date#_#time#.tar.gz
#home#/public_html/agents"
timeOut="600">
</cfexecute>
It works on the console and using a bash script. Ideas?
Daniel
