AFAIK : Maybe this is nothing to do with it but when CF takes memory it
keeps it,
For eg if you load a whole load of querys into memory cf takes that amount
of memory. If you then delete those querys , the memory is not released.
This is because cf figures that you'll use that much memory again so it
saves itself the overhead of allocating memory again
