Well, presumably no developer would release an app that would hang 100% of
the time when running through an operation. If that -is- the case then do
as Jesse says, find the template that hangs, find the programmer that
wrote something which doesn't even run in single-user mode and flog them
relentlessly. Have them fix it and flog them again.

If it hangs less than 100% of the time you, the cf engine, or a custom cfx
tag, has some sort of threading issue. If it's pure CFML code that causes
it to hang I'd question the load the server is under and which version of
CF you're running. CF 4.5(.1)? SP2 would hang fairly frequently on me
when put under heavy load forcing me to force it to use TCP/IP
communication between the webserver and the CF engine. Documentation on
how to do this can be found in the SP1 release notes if you wish to try
it.
