Yes you can do this.
Use CFQUERYPARAM and it should work fine. You might have to specify the
CFSQLType as CF_SQL_BLOB, but try it without first.
insert into testLong(characters, data)
VALUES(4100, <CFQUERYPARAM VALUE="#value#">);
