Not to rain on the parade (no pun on the weather for NY-ers), but I have
some updates on my scenario.

I spent a good 8 hours that I could have been sleeping this weekend to
re-install my CF/Linux server. I am now running:

RedHat 7.2 (CDs made from ISOs on RedHat's site)
Linux marauder.adelphi.edu 2.4.7-10smp #1 SMP Thu Sep 6 17:09:31 EDT
2001 i686 unknown
Apache/1.3.20 (Unix) (Red-Hat/Linux)
mysql Ver 11.15 Distrib 3.23.41, for redhat-linux-gnu (i386)
glibc-2.2.4-13

I updated the cfodbc45.so as directed in Jesse Noller's FAQ:
ftp://ftp.allaire.com/kbftp/coldfusion/50/21908/jnoller-LinuxFAQ_21908.h
tm

I think that covers all the bases. And guess what? Still getting
restarts. I can conclusively link the restarts to an anomaly in the
Apache access log file. At the same instant that the restart occurs,
there are 2 entries in the access log file that are for the same page by
the same remote user. One has a realistic file size, the other has no
file size. I do not know if this is CAUSED BY the coldfusion restarts
or CAUSING the restarts. Either way, it's the best debugging I can do.

Any thoughts? And how about a look at that fix, Santus?

Santus,

So you found the problem with CF and Linux that have been causing all
the core dumping and restarts?

If it is than it is great news and you should sell the patch to
Macromedia. =) Or at least request that they give you life time free
upgrades.
