boy - i'm having a great day... %-) i just turned on debugging for my IP address and now the bottom of each CF page has this nice error:
-------- Error Occurred While Processing Request File not found: /WEB-INF/exception/java/lang/Exception.cfm -------- i'm using CFMX Pro on Redhat Linux (to be exact: "Linux master.aes.org 2.4.18 #3 SMP Fri Jul 26 16:27:29 MDT 2002 i686 unknown"). the file it claims to not find is right where it should be (afaik): -rwx------ 1 apache bin 82 Jul 24 18:30 /usr/local/coldfusionmx/wwwroot/WEB-INF/exception/java/lang/Exception.cfm i su'd to apache and it could read the file just fine. i even copied the WEB-INF directory into my real web root but still no dice.
