I have established two small applications that model a login/navigate/logout application. One app uses client management, the other uses session management. My tests were performed on RedHat 7.3 with 2.4.18-3 kernel, Apache 1.3.23-11, and CFMX standalone configured for Apache. I repeated the test after applying the CFMX update. The tests were made from Netscape 4.79 on Linux. My conclusions are that client management and session management work effectively in CFMX and CFMX Update 1.
Unfortunately, I was not able to reproduce your issue. Have you taken a look at this article for reasons that may interfere with maintaining a session: http://www.macromedia.com/v1/Handlers/index.cfm?ID=22711&Method=Full ColdFusion Server (all versions): How to Prevent Session Swapping TechNote 22711 This article focuses on session management, but problems such as proxy servers and such can apply to client management as well. Can you provide sample code as a test case, and the version info as above. -steve -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, September 18, 2002 6:00 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: CF-Linux-List V1 #167 CF-Linux-List Wed, 18 Sep 2002 Volume 1 : Number 167 In this issue: CFMX update RE: CFMX update ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Wed, 18 Sep 2002 15:17:31 -0600 From: Steve Johnson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: CFMX update Message-ID: <p05111a06b9ae9d57822d@[10.0.1.101]> has anyone applied the CFMX update to their linux version yet? i'd love to know if the changes they made to client variables have fixed the bug that doesn't allow Netscape 4.x users to stay logged in past the first page access.... (but i won't have time to set up my staging server and test the update for a few more weeks.) steve ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/cf-linux%40houseoffusion.com/ To Unsubscribe visit http://www.houseoffusion.com/index.cfm?sidebar=lists&body=lists/cf_linux or send a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with 'unsubscribe' in the body.
