Someone told me that they thought there would be a speed bump at MacWorld (several months ago). Someone else said they doubted it, because the TiBook 800 runs hot -- you can just tolerate it on your bare legs in the summertime. > I took a look at the openlink > license. I see where the price could hinder you. The OpenLink site is confusing because it is a complex set of products, with many configurations. I was originally put off because I thought I would need to pay around 5 thousand dollars to do this. But, after talking with the OpenLink people, you can do what I want for 5 hundred dollars. It is worth the price, but I hop they can reduce it more for developers. > I own ms office so I > think I will run virtual PC on the mac and do that way. To run CFMX interfacing MS-Access directly you can: 1) Run both under windows VPC emulation 2) Run OpenLink Server under VPC emulation and CFMX Native (ported) If you have an immediate need, you can take advantage of the OpenLink free trial period. I never tried CFMX under windows emulation -- I was never happy with the performance of prior CFMX versions under emulation. One final note: I have been using MS-Access as an example, you can use OpenLink in the same way to interface other DBs that you want to run on the same box (for demonstration, etc). I plan to try SQL-Server and DB/2 -- both are not available under Mac OS X (Although IBM is considering a Mac release). Anyway, glad to help! > Thanks for all the > info. > > Brett ______________________________________________________________________ This list and all House of Fusion resources hosted by CFHosting.com.
