I just purchased the CFMX 6.1 upgrade today (from CF 4.5) so I'll be digging into this issue as well. As far as I've been able to determine the functionality that breaks on RedHat 7.3+ is being able to index a DOC or PDF file. I'll likely be installing on RedHat 8.0.
