Users are granted permission based on where they come from, so you may not
be granted permission to log on when coming from localhost.

Try the same using the IP address (ie. do not use 127.0.0.1 or localhost).

Subject: Problem connecting to MySQL 4.1 running on localhost

Hi all,

I just moved from a remotely hosted MySQL 3.22 database to a localhost MySQL
4.1 as I need the subquery support. My problem is that I can't seem to
connect to the local datasource. I keep getting a message asking am I sure
there is a mysql server running on port 3306 on localhost.

I've confirmed this is running and have made mysql command line connections
from various other machines to the new server using the same credentials as
I'm supplying via CF. I've granted the user correctly from within mysql.

My previous working setup was MySQL 3.22 running on a remote Debian box (on
same lan) with CFMX6.1, RH7.2, Apache 2.043.

New setup is the same with the only difference being that MySQL 4.1 is on
the same RH7.2 box.

Any ideas anyone?

TIA,
Dave
