I remember seeing these same kinds of messages when I first installed
CFMX 6.1 on Red Hat Linux 9. Since the ColdFusion install doesn't
recognize RH9 as a "supported" Verity platform I believe it just
disables it in the CF admin altogether. I'm guessing it would do the
same for Debian since it's not a "support" platform. The only way I
could fix the problem was to use an older version of Red Hat (I believe
I tried 7.2) and then it magically began to work in the CF admin.
As far as web servers go, ColdFusion should run just fine whether you
use an external web server (such as Apache) or the built-in one.
