Ah. Macromedia still apparently can not get their act together with Linux. I had to manually re-compile the connectors when I tried to install 6.1 MX on a non-supported version of redhat. I assume that is the problem. You may also have to manually add the lines to your httpd.conf, as I had to.

I am installing in Multiserver mode (to run 4 instances) on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 SP2 (SLES 9 SP2) with all patches. I am running Apache2 2.0.49. I have downloaded CFMX 7.0.1 installer from Macromedia's site. I run the installer, tell it to config Apache2, tell it everything it wants to know, it seems to install fine, I then run it with /opt/jrun4/bin/jrun -start cfusion and it starts fine. I then restart Apache2 to make sure that the module is loaded, however, when I try to hit any cfm file, I get a Forbidden error, even when trying to connect to http://servername/cfide/administrator/index.cfm . I then looked through my apache config files and do not see where the installer has actually modified anything. So I then run /opt/jrun4/bin/cfms-connetors.sh, after making sure that CFMX 7 is actually loaded. What I get is Configuring the web server connector for ColdFusion MX 7 (multiserver) Running apache connector wizard... ColdFusion MX 7 (multiserver) not started, will retry connector 12 more time(s etc. I have the C++ compat libraries installed on this box. I had this problem with SLES 9 before the updater came out when trying to install CFMX 7 on SLES 9, but I thought the updater was supposed to fix this issue, and in fact now SLES 9 is officially supported by Macromedia. What's the deal? Any ideas what I should do? Thanks.
