I installed MDAC 2.5 SP1 on the server where we have ColdFusion and our intranet. At first it seemed fine. Then a ran a simple query against the Access2000 version of our employee database. This resulted in "unknown exception condition PCodeRuntimeContextImp::executeSQLTagCFQuery::endTag" This came up on all templates on the intranet (they all interact with the same DB). Couldn't get a normal page display anywhere. Basically the entire site was hosed. So I rebooted the server. I double checked my CFML and ran the query again. All it had to do was go to the Access2000 DB and select some fields, then dump any results into a table. Same problem, same hosed site, same re-boot. After it happened for a third time, I went into the CF administrator and changed the ODBC back over to an Access97 version of the database. Problem gone; site works fine. So that leaves me wondering why I can't get CF4.0 to run a query on an Access2000 database, even with a recent MDAC? (The OS is NT4, SP5.)
