Are you using a domain account for the CF services startup account? If you are using only the local machines System account or any other "Local User" account you might not be able to access domain resources. It also sounds like you might be logging on to the local server and not the domain (thus the password boxes every time you attempt to use domain resources). W2K is much more "picky" (security conscious) than NT4. In NT4 you could have the same userid/password combo for local machine and a remote machine and it would authenticate - W2K requires the domain piece.
Doug Teetzen Bushnell Performance Optics -----Original Message----- From: Keith Purtell [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, January 10, 2003 9:37 AM To: KCFusion (E-mail) Subject: [KCFusion] CF and domains Another bug in my attempts to move our CF5 intranet to Windows2000 server. There is a scheduled process that finds a file on the same drive as ColdFusion, and uses CFFILE to copy across the network to a shared directory on target PC. This worked fine when the CF was on NT4. Now it results in error "unknown user name or bad password. (error 1326)". Event viewer on target PC shows an incorrect domain entry for the source CF server. Both machines are supposedly in the same domain. So I checked via our primary domain controller and the CF server itself, and they both say the domain setup is fine. If I logon to the machine hosting the CF server and try to open other PCs via network neighborhood, I get username/password boxes for each attempt; not our design, and does not happen when attempted from the old NT4 where the original intranet is located. Tried going into the Server Manager on the primary domain controller and removing and re-entering the new W2000 server. No change. Tried researching the 1326 error message but only found a seemingly irrelevant page at Microsoft. Any tips?
