Dear Jonathan, and all,
I need to creat a netcdf with 3 variable.

  CHL: chloropyll(nx,ny)
  CHL_error: the standard deviation (nx,ny)
  Chl_count: aNumer of Observation (nx,ny)

Following the section 3.4 of the CF standard, I undestood that

- for standard deviation variable I must set its standard name:= "standard_error" - for the number of obseration, I must set its standard name as "number_of_observations".

BUT THE CH CHECKER SAYS THAT MY NETCDF IS NOT CF COMPLIANT, THAT STANDARD NAME (number_of_observations, standard_error) ARE NOT OK.

SURELY I HAVEN'T UNDERSTOOD HOW TO USE STANDARD_NAME MODIFIERS.

MAY YOU HELP ME?

THANKS IN ADVANCE

CRISTINA

Citando Jonathan Gregory <[email protected]>:

Dear Cristina

standard_error and number_of_observations are both standard_name modifiers.
Please have a look at section 3.4 of the CF standard.

Best wishes

Jonathan
