Hello Jonathan Would you be content, for now, to list the type names from ticket 68, with a short definition statement of what they are on the wiki page?
I thought to do this, but I found it hard to distil a short definition for each one from the text you posted, and I do not want to put words into your keyboard. I would like to have a single point of contact for potential names so we can discuss options and try to agree on a common terminology. As we have already discussed, I think we could certainly work on the CF data model on a wiki page. However, I would also remind people that there is already a proposal for the CF data model, in ticket 68, which David and I proposed and of which you are the moderator. There has already been some discussion on the ticket https://cf-pcmdi.llnl.gov/trac/ticket/68. I think we should continue with this existing proposal and ticket. If it would help, I can convert the content of the existing proposal from http://www.met.rdg.ac.uk/~jonathan/CF_metadata/cfdm.html into a wiki page to facilitate discussion of it.
