I'm not aware of anything unusual going on with the mailing list. As for what happens if you comment directly on a Trac ticket, there are really two mailing lists. The real list is [email protected]. But there's a clone, [email protected], which is used only to forward entries into the Trac system. If you subscribe to or unsubscribe from the main list, at ucar.edu, then Brian Eaton will send me the change and in a month or so you'll also be subscribed to or unsubscribed from Trac's clone of the list, the one at llnl.gov. The reason for doing it this way is that it also makes it possible for you to unsubscribe from the Trac list, without affecting your subscription to the real cf-metadata list. There's no moderator approval involved at LLNL (there was a recent spam incident because of that, unfortunately), but I don't know about the main list at NCAR. - Jeff On 5/21/13 10:09 AM, John Graybeal wrote: Sometimes I get messages much later than the reply, I think because the original is awaiting moderator approval on one list but the reply comes through from someone on both lists who is already approved. |
