All, Re the CF standard name table: The site is still in work, but if you go to http://cfconventions.org/standard-names-26.html you can see all the names on a page, and search using your browser within that table. I think it's fair to say that's an authoritative document, even if some links are still broken. At least we can say that until somebody finds a problem with it.
Clicking on the Documents menu item takes you to http://cfconventions.org/documents.html which has all the old (pre v26) versions in XML, and has an apparent link to the v26 XML, but that link is broken. To my understanding the site is actively being improved, and soon I think a lot of issues will be taken care of.
