Hi Alison and all -
Either of these definitions looks fine to me. I'd prefer Alison's,
because John's version might be a little misleading - the phrase
'measure of salinity' has some implications that aren't cleared up
fast enough in the text for me.
I'm mainly interested in moving the units along, though, so whatever
is needed for the definition to work for us is all good.
