Hi Markus, ncecat's group-aggregation mode was designed for issues like this. In this case it will produce a netCDF4 output file with each station, and all the global metadata from that station, in its own group. This is not CF-compliant because it uses groups, though each group will be as CF-compliant as its corresponding input file.
