 Yes, I have heard your term "rectilinear" before. Not sure, I am 100%
 pleased with that term, though, because it contains "linear", which to
 some means the same as "affine" and/or may also suggest that points are
 equally spaced. "Aligned" may be a better word? I'd be happy to learn more
 about this. And if eventually an Englishman, an American, and an
 Australian (plus a Scot?) can agree on one term, I'd be very happy to
 accept this ;-)
