Thanks Steve, I had already been there, the wikipedia page is much clearer to read. :)
At best I would say it is "g/m^3" from those XML files, but standard_names is using "g m-3". So things are not clear to me. It would be nice if there was a best practices or something somewhere. Is / or space preferred for 'per'. What is preferred raising to a power (m3, m^3, or m-3).
