@JonathanGregory my preference would be to leave the past documents unchanged 
for the sake of immutability and simply include the dates in future versions. 
Alternatively, we could release corrections to each of the previous version 
that are missing the dates, i.e. 1.6.1, 1.7.1, 1.8.1, and from 1.9 forward it 
would be integrated into the "main line" of documents. @davidhassell what do 
you think?
