OK, solved the problem.

Following the redv.org article I included the jar filename along with the full 
path in the CF Admin Class path input field. Oddly, the Postgresql driver and 
datasource worked with the filename included, but QofQ (of all things) didn't.

Correcting the class path to reflect only the full path (but without the jar 
filename) fixed the QofQ problem, and the driver and datasources still work.
