I have a website that pulls RSS feeds from multiple websites. Since it pulls the feeds everytime someone visits the home page - it is slowing the site down considerably (since it has to go to the other websites every time...)
I was thinking that maybe I could pull the feed either once a day or every three/six hours and save it on the local server... but I am not sure how to do that. I would guess that on a "visit" it would check the time stamp of the local file and if it was "too old" get a new version and save it locally - - but again - I have no idea how to do that - just that I know it could be done. Ideas? Thanks folks - as always - a huge help! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Message: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=i:15:1755 Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/threads.cfm/15 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/lists.cfm/link=s:15 Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.15 Donations & Support: http://www.houseoffusion.com/tiny.cfm/54
