I haven't figured that part out myself yet either.  I have previously tried 
your suggestion before but it just errors out so I have been using this until I 
can figure it out.  It works fine for me on other pages and it is working 
partially on this page so I don't really feel like this is the issue.
   
  I run the code and it gets all the way to the "update" button and then seems 
toe error out which is why I beleive that the error now is resulting from my 
coding syntax in the two updates.  I even tested with CFOUTPUT calling all the 
values I am referring to and they all come up with the correct values.  I am 
connecting to my database and pulling the information as well as bringing forth 
the correct edited values to the processing page... I just can't seem to get 
the new values back into the database.
   
  Still putzing with it.

I would normally just write the table name, maybe CME1.users, or just users.
