1) Be sure that GoDaddy will allow connections to that mysql database from
the outside. Likely not.
2) If they do, or you are using coldfusion from within their network, my
next question is are you using mx7? If so, your mysq connection will have
to look like this:
CF Data Source Name: {name you want to use}
JDBC URL: jdbc:mysql://{IP or FQDN of server}:3306/{actualdbname}
Driver Class: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
Driver Name: {leave blank}
Username: {username}
Password: {password}
Actual Example:
CF Data Source name: tshirtcentral
JDBC URL: jdbc:mysql://192.168.1.1:3306/tshirtcentral
Driver Class: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver
Driver Name:
Username: mysqlusername
Password: mysqlpassword
Hope this helps.

Subject: Coldfusion, MySQL, and GoDaddy help
I have been searching for answer to this problem all day long. I
absolutly cannot figure out how to connect to my MySQL database with
GoDaddy. GoDaddy's Account Manager allows me to automatically create a
DNS which is nice, and it gives me the database name, host name, DNS
name, database user name, and password. What next? I am used to using
the Coldfusion Administrator and MS Access databases. This would be
easy if I could use Dreamweaver to create all this but GoDaddy won't
allow RDS login. If someone could give me some example code for this
that would be great.
