Sandy, Yes, we can access our oracle database via sql Plus. Also I copied the TNSNAMES file from the current server on to the new ones. I'll check on the Ipsec policy.

Another place to check is the IPSec policy of Win2k3 and if it does not have anything defined in the policy which prevents talking of CF MX with database server. Check/Confirm the TNSNAmes.ora file for database SID, host string and port number, credentials (username & password) - if they are correct and actually the first question above would confirm the same..:) Thanks. -Sandy Vohra -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, September 22, 2006 5:21 PM To: CF-Newbie Subject: Installing mx7 Hi I have installed CF MX7 on a new server with windows 2003 OS and IIS 6. The install went fine, however I am trying to connect to an oracle 9i database using jdbc connection. I am getting the error: "connection verification failed for data source; java.sql.SQLException: The network adapter could not establish the connection." Can anyone point me to documentation on this error or tell me how to fix it? thanks Jay Birdsell Deliverables Coordinator /Web Developer Northrop Grumman Information Technology Department of the Treasury Office of the Chief Information Officer HR Connect Program Office 202 - 927 - 6218 "HR Connect : Connecting people, performance, and technology" [EMAIL PROTECTED] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Introducing the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update. 80 pages of hard-hitting, up-to-date ColdFusion information by your peers, delivered to your door four times a year. http://www.fusionauthority.com/quarterly Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Newbie/message.cfm/messageid:2092 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Newbie/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.15
