Hi Dave - Once sorting is done by using order by clause in query - use
anchor names <a name=XXXX> while generating/displaying records and pass
the value of XXXX ( which would most probably be a date or if you guess
anything better) in the url of this page.

This way the focus would be on the record which is current..

Thanks.

Subject: Landing on today's date

Hi all,

We're writing a search in CFMX7 that returns a series of records. Each
record has a date field as part of the structure. The date associated
with each record can occur both in the past and the future. What we'd
like to be able to do after our search is land on the closet date to
'today'. The web user then can hit 'forward' to begin scrolling through
future dates or 'back' to scroll through older dates.

Its easy enough to sort the records of course, but are there any
suggestions that land the user in the middle?

Many thanks,

David
