What is a DB header? Are they used with MySQL 5 installations on Mac OS

It's a new installation of MySQL that may not be configured correctly 
... I've been unable to find anyone in the Boston Metrowest area who 
will instruct me while they configure my computer.

Agreed. That's why I posted it here ... and not on the Blue Dragon list 
... greater MySQL knowledge here.

That puts the datasource name into a session variable, so that if it's 
changed, the developer doesn't need to edit every template it's used on.
