Hi James, I have read these posts and I think that this will be difficult to test without a locl testing CF environment. Can you download the "FREE" CF developers verion on your localhost? This will make everything work.
I test locally like this, and then upload everything to my shared hosting environment and everything works. I can write a blog post on the complete set up if you want?
