Ok then let me ask you this? What is the purpose of this then, the best approach here would be to save the excel sheet as a csv file. Which you could then read line by line and turn into a query, or you could use and ODBC connection to then connect to the file as a datasource.
But if you are wanting to create spreadsheets, then I would look at the Java tools POI for much better results. As under the hood that is what ColdFusion 9 uses from memory.
