I have been using IMail server for about 4 years now (since version 3.something).

I *STILL* run it on a 200MHz (NOT pro, NOT P-II) PC with 128MB of ram. It has never
gone down (knock on wood).

Admittedly, I host a small number of mail domains (about 40 total, about half virtual,
and half using dedicated IP addresses). So I cant talk to its scalability in a large
environment.

Setting up the system was TOO easy - I screwed it up by not reading the manual, and I
made things much harder than they needed to be. After reading the manual, I was up and
running in under an hour.

Now that I have been using the system for years, it takes only minutes to set up new
domains, mailing lists, users, etc...

Lastly, there is no need for PCAnywhere to manage the system. In fact, I suspect you
will find it quicker to use the web interface, and NOT PCAnywhere.

Subject: [OT] IMail?? Quoting....

My boss has asked me to find out how much time it takes to do things within
IMail server. We are getting ready to buy it and install it on our new
dedicated box. She wants to know how long it takes to do things like add
new domains, new pop accounts then within those domains, how long it takes
to change passwords, etc. They have chosen IMail so please don't bombard me
with other options, I just need people that have used this product that know
about how long it takes to do things in it to respond and let me know if you
can. As a side note we will be using PC Anywhere to remotely manage it.

Please feel free to call me at 888-306-4590 or to email me off list if you
can help me out. Thanks in advance.

Bill
