I personally have been looking into a solution to remedy this.. I am going
to use an ASP page to call a batch file that stops the services using "NET
STOP" just an idea, which I haven't implemented fully yet.

I'm new to the list. Sorry if this is a repeat question.
Does anyone have a way to remotely start/stop CF4.5 services? I seem to
remember being able to start/stop the ColdFusion services (through an
applet?) in older versions of the server...but can't seem to find out how to
do the same on the newer ones.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
