Just a quick correction:
CF-Linux DOES handle SMP well, very well in fact. It's totally dependant on
the kernel version, anything above 2.2.16-2.4testpreX should work
beautifully.

I've had a about three months experience running CF on Linux in a production
environment. There were two big issues we encountered:
1.) Inexperienced administrators. If your clients admins are used to
NT, it's most likely better to keep 'em on it for a production environment.
If you're goin' *nix, make sure you have an experienced Unix/Linux admin
who's been responsible for a box with multiple users.
2.) We had a lot of problems using CFFILE on an NFS mounted drive.
Linux's NFS support is still weak. While we were never able to get it to
work in production, but we had the best luck with RedHat.
One other factor to consider: CF/Linux still doesn't do multiple processors
very well. (I got it straight from Allaire). If you have multi-cpu boxes (as
of a couple of months ago) NT is the best choice.
