NOPE, you can setup ODBC to databases on other servers via
TCP/IP or even mapped drives in the case of Access.  I do
this sort of thing all the time.  I have ODBC sources setup
to several servers across the country this way.  Once the
ODBC source is setup CF will interact with it where ever
it's at.
