Of course it will fail.
CF only has a certain number of threads per processor.
Depending on the application you will reach a point at which you're adding
users faster than CF can clear the queue. I haven't stress tested the
various versions of CF so I can't tell you whether or not 4.5.2 is worse
than any other version. I can only say that it is pretty much a certaintity
that you will hit that point with cf.
Just make sure your systems never reach that point and you'll be fine :)
PS. I "used" to work for your competition. We should talk!

Subject: CF 4.5.2 Stress Tests
My System Administrator is telling me that he has found an issue with
ColdFusion.
Can anyone confirm or discount that CF 4.5.2 will fail (either 0% processor
usage or intermittent 95-100% processor usage) after a stress test of around
50 simultaneous hits then ramp up to to 300+ simultaneous hits?
I know that 4.0.1 was just about rock solid on these tests. We're about to
do the 4.5.2 upgrade.
