The information from Macromedia at this time is that while 1.5 will be the last
release of Spectra as a stand-alone product, much of the functionality
it provides will be re-written as java classes and incorporated into the 6.0 version
of the CF application server. Most of the tags should remain the
same but the implementation is changing. So, development in Spectra is not a
dead-end, but I would wait until later this year (if that's an option) to
obtain the functionality in the new server rather than having to deal with the upgrade.
