Peace:

I know the drivers do work, but you might be running into several
different issues. The first of which being that CF requires that you have a
specific permission set on the mysql server, namely, the "host" block on the
mysql server must be in the format of:

machine.domain.com

So, if you were adding a user called SA, the host would be the client server
+ domain.

Second, do you have the client libraries for Linux loaded on the
client machine (rpms are named mysql-client I think)

Hope this helps.

Subject: Linux , ODBC connector to mySQL databases

We have just put up our first Linux coldfusion server and are tring to
get a ODBC connector to connect to another linux box running mySQL,

system background:
Linux-coldfusion = RedHat7 running CF-pro 4.5 sp2
linux-MySQL = RedHat 7 running mySQL 3.23.22
WinDose 2K = SQL 2000 (ew)

Problem:
the ODBC connector fails when i try to connect to any databases
(permissions aside) databases are wide open so it's not a Auth issue.
is
there better connector i can install or is there a certin port that
has
to be used, that may explain my problems.

PeaceKeeper,
