This is a possibility since I have a linux box doing NAT for the private IPs
and the Linux box's default gateway and route out are different than the CF
servers, but then again, why would it be only happeneing with the error
message that a connection to the database could not be made. Any other
database error (such as table not found, column not found, "you do not have
permission to access blah blah blah") doesn't cause this problem and CF
displays normal error messages, and database connections with no errors
return expected data.
I will try the TCP/IP on Monday, though. I just needed to finish building
the cluster and the rest of the production environment today before
switching the database parameters.
