We evaluated Urchin awhile back. It seems like a solid application, but it was very expensive for the features it had (or, rather, didn't have). Of course, we we're evaluating it from an ISPs perspective. If memory serves, I think it was more reasonable for single virtual server installations. > look at the unix cross over freeware types too. Most of these, like Analog, are good at producing simple snapshots of the amount of traffic a Web site gets: their data analysis doesn't go very deep. Of course, this may be all you are looking for, but we came to the conclusion that, as an ISP, we needed software that would be able to fit a wide variety of needs from across our entire client base. You can't beat the price of these apps though. :) Benjamin S. Rogers http://www.c4.net/ v.508.240.0051 f.508.240.0057 -----Original Message----- From: Benjamin S. However, the actual statistics reporting in the previous version was fairly deep and reliable. We had quite a few problems with corrupted databases and mail engine problems. It looks like we weren't the only ones since they've completely reengineered the application to work out of MySQL or Microsoft SQL Server rather than its own proprietary format. We're testing the new mail engine now: hopefully that has been retooled as well. Their support is very responsive, though not always tremendously helpful. The price is fair, especially for ISPs. All in all, we're pretty happy with the application, which is something we couldn't say about WebTrends. Benjamin S. We have a few hundred domains. Does anyone have any suggestions as an alternative to Webtrends?
